What is a life for, anyway? How about changing the world?

I watched a documentary about Steve Jobs this evening, and like most people who learn of him I have a tremendous amount of respect for all that he accomplished in his life, Yes, he was incredibly financially successful, but somehow I don't think that money motivated him. Well, at least it wasn't his only motivation, let me put it that way. Perhaps it was something as simple as making certain that he left a legacy behind.

.Steve Jobs didn't actually invent any of the technology that his companies sold. His true talent was in recognizing and seeing potential in new technology that others did not. For example, Apple Computers didn't invent the mouse, but they were the first company to package the mouse with a personal computer named "Lisa"
back in 1983. The Lisa was a commercial flop, but it was a precursor to the highly successful Macintosh computer.

Mr. Jobs also had a keen eye for design. He wasn't involved with figuring how to make the iPod work, but he knew how it should look, work, and feel and as such he pushed his project engineers until the reality met with his vision. The success of the iPod is legendary, and his work speaks for itself. The iPod, and later the iTunes online store, changed the way that we listened to music. Also let's not forget the iPhone, and how it changed the very way we live from day to day.

His work was his passion, and long after he made a fortune he was still driven to create and do more to change society. What will your legacy be? What do you want to be known for?
